About Rick

My name is Rick, and I have a Diploma of Higher Education in mental health nursing and many years of experience working as a Mental Health Nurse within the NHS. I look back on my career with a lot of pride when I consider the unknown challenges I was facing at the time.

My diagnosis came in 2021 after a few years spent struggling as a stay at home father to my 2 lovely, 'energetic' children (My 9-year-old son has ADHD and my 11-year-old daughter has 'traits'). Since then, a new chapter of my life has opened up; I have become passionate about all things ADHD, completing Level 1 ADHD works coaching with Leanne Maskell and Simply ADHD and Personal Transformation modules through ADDCA. I am now able to bring to bear my previous experience, my thirst for knowledge and my coaching skills to provide first rate ADHD coaching.

I have a keen interest in mindfulness and I plan to offer as a service in the near future. In addition, I enjoy various activities such as walking with my family, reading, watching films, cooking and dabbling with DIY. I belong to a Pilates group and have a personal trainer, both invaluable in managing my ADHD. I also love nature and making a positive contribution to the environment.

As someone who is also navigating the challenges of ADHD in this often confusing and stressful world, I understand the importance of having a support system. That's why I want to offer my knowledge and experience to help others on their journey. Whether it's through coaching, advice, or simply a listening ear, I am here to help.

So, if you or someone you know is struggling with ADHD, consider coaching with Rick Lewis. Together, we can navigate the challenges of this condition and work towards a happier and more fulfilling life.

What is ADHD Coaching?

Let me start by saying what it ISN'T. Coaching is not therapy. ADHD coaching is a practical-based approach that aims to help individuals with ADHD move forward in their lives by working towards agreed-upon goals. Unlike therapy, which tends to be longer-term and focused on complex issues, coaching is more immediate and goal-oriented.

ADHD coaching can assist individuals with challenges such as:

  • understanding and regulating emotions,

  • improving self-awareness,

  • improving self-motivation

  • problem-solving,

  • identifying core strengths and using them effectively, and

  • overcoming procrastination.

ADHD coaching can also be effective for the parents and loved ones of people with ADHD.

The challenges facing a person with ADHD can feel overwhelming at times. The coaching process involves identifying and overcoming obstacles that hinder your progress and challenging negative and limiting beliefs.

Success in ADHD coaching requires commitment from both the coach and the individual, and sessions may involve homework or goal-setting that can be evaluated in subsequent sessions.

There is no limit to the number of coaching sessions, and the coaching relationship can be terminated if either party feels that it is not working. Any future paid-for sessions will be refunded.
